We had a FANTASTIC weekend of competition at the SW Classic meet. As I previously said, this was one of the largest and most competitive HS swim meets in the country and the Firebirds crushed it. We had countless season and lifetime best swims AND we had more individual qualifiers to finals this year than we have had in over a decade! AND WE HAD TWO CLASSIC CHAMPIONS! HUGE congrats to seniors Neala Erling and Gavin Reents for winning their events at finals. Watching those two touch the wall in that atmosphere was a special moment for our team. I am not certain, but I do not think we have ever had two different individual classic champions in school history.
Swimmers and Divers qualifying for finals were Neal Erling, Helena Duselis, Gavin Reents, Alex Tabor, Michael Sullivan, William Duselis, Noah Bane, Cayden Back, Jeremy Hartt, and Brittnay Perciful. Jeremy Hartt finished 8th on the diving board.

Congrats to everyone for a great weekend. No practice today, get some rest.

Don't get too restful though...we still have a lot more to do in the pool. This weekend is the Elk Sprint Meet. Bus report time will be 4:40. Warmups will start at 5:30 at Washington TWP Rec Center (WTRC). The meet will start at 6:50 PM. Admission is $9 and can be paid at the door. This meet is unique in that it is only the 50s of each stroke plus the 100 free. No relays. Also, to make it interesting, each event is broken down by grade. Plus, Dive is with swim! Everyone will do 3 events.

The following week is GWOC week! We will have our GWOC (ALL) team dinner next Wed (1/28) evening in the commons after practice. Special thanks to Submarine House for donating a big portion of our meal that night. More details on that to follow. The GWOC league meet will be Saturday Morning, 1/31/26 at WTRC.

The following weekend after GWOC is our last home meet and Senior Night!

Be watching for an email from Angie Bane this week regarding a md-season volunteering update. Thanks for your attentiveness to that.

That is all for now. Let's have a great week!
