COMPETITION UPDATE
* BATTLE FOR COUNTY LINE
The Boys Wrestling Firebirds won a thriller, 39-35, to take control of the Battle of County Line trophy! Kellen Metcalf, Brock Conley, Hayden Drake, Ja'Siah Jamison, Noah Olligschlager, and Kolby Wallace all won by pin and Dawson France also turned around an earlier season loss to get his W! The Girls Wrestling Firebirds set the tone for the night by dominating Beavercreek, winning 5 matches to none to win 28-0. Winning by pin were Abbey Sharkey, Jada Carter, Katie Hosford, and As'sjayla Barnes. Alana Caldwell also won by major decision. In JV matches, the Firebirds trounced Beavercreek 69-24. Winners were Dylan Sipe, Mohamed Boussaha, Jack Williamson, Caidyn DelLaro, Esteban Martinez, Chance Norman, Payten Schlemmer, Gage Newman, David Uzhca, Quentin Gearheart, MIcah Buskard, and Brayden Feltner.
* JV Boys @ Urbana Varsity Tournament
A group of Firebirds consisting mostly of JV wrestlers (with a few varsity guys sprinkled in) finished 2nd at the Urbana Varsity Tournament. Kellen Metcalf won the 106 title in dominating fashion. Finishing 3rd were Cole Wireman (4 pins, including the last 3 in :18, :25, and :17 seconds), Dalton Smith, Jack Williamson, and Braiden Wilt. Finishing 4th were Caidyn DelLaro, Phoenix Frankin-Wenning, and Amar Maiden.
THIS WEEK
* Busy Week - Varsity Boys traveling to Toledo, Girls hosting an event + wrestling at Northmont, Freshmen Boys (if any) wrestling in the Buckeye Classic at Centerville. Next week we have our 2nd rivalry dual, the Battle of Far Hills on Jan. 21 down at the other school.
GRADES
2nd Quarter grades are now final. Coach Baxter has had a discussion with any athletes with grade issues.
FEES
Wrestling Fee ($200) - payable by cash / check to Fairmont Wrestling Parents / or
Past-Due Invoices will be sent out this week. Upaid Team Fees will be added to your KCS Account (note - unpaid fees stop graduation).
* Issues with Wrestling Fee? Contact Coach Baxter. We understand monetary issues. However, you need to set up a payment plan!
