Parents and Players,

We are officially done with tryouts and our first "week of practice". We have a pretty busy week ahead and a lot of information to share with you.

IMPORTANT DATES THIS WEEK
Tuesday 11/11 - Picture Day - All teams will have pictures in the Arena at 5PM. Arrive at least 15 minutes before dressed and ready to go with your order information completed. More information in the email below.

Wednesday 11/12 - JVB/JVA/V Home Scrimmage vs Oak Hills - All 3 teams have a scrimmage at 6PM. Varsity will be in the arena, while both JV teams will be in the main gym. Varsity will have a walk through in the Arena at 5PM

Saturday 11/15 - JVB/JVA/V Away Tri Scrimmages
- Varsity 10AM at Oakwood (The Pit) - Bus leaves from FHS at 9:15AM
- JVA 10AM at Oakwood (Smith Elementary) - Bus leaves from FHS at 9:15AM
- JVB 10AM at CJ - Bus leaves from FHS at 9:15AM
All Buses will return around Noon after scrimmages

Sunday 11/16 - Shoot- A - Thon - At 4PM on Sunday we will have our Shoot a Thon Fundraiser. More information in the email below.

Shoot-A-Thon
We are doing a shoot-a-thon fundraiser this year on Sunday November 16th at 4PM in the Arena and Main Gym (One week away!) Players should be reaching out to donors for that now! The goal for each player is to raise $300. This helps cover travel sweatshirts, shooter shirts, and home meals so that there are no out of pocket expenses for those things.
Each player will shoot 100 Free Throws. They can ask for a donation per make, or a flat donation.
Incentives: Any amount that a player raises over $300, they will earn 15% back rounded to the nearest dollar amount (Example: If a player raises $400, they would get back $15)
Prizes: For our top 3 fundraisers- we will give a cash prize of $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd place. This is on top of the 15% they earn over the $300 mark.
*To qualify for the top 3 prizes, you must earn over $400 dollars in donations.
I am including the flyer with the QR Code and the tracking sheet in this email in case anyone did not get one or needs a new one. You can also reach out to me for one as well.

Picture Day
This Tuesday the 11th we have our picture day for all 3 teams at 5PM. We have already handed out picture forms to players but if you need another order form, please let me know. You should have also received an email from Nicole Motto about picture day with a link to place orders online.

For practice this day JVA and Varsity will all practice from 6-8PM in the Main Gym and JVB will practice 6-8PM in West Gym.

***We have communicated this with all JVA/JVB players, but as a reminder- please bring your uniforms tomorrow. We may have to switch out a few uniforms to make sure that there are no duplicate numbers, damaged jerseys, etc.

Meet the Team Night
On Tuesday November 18th at 6PM, we will have our Meet the Team Night at 6PM. Our entire program (2nd Grade through Varsity) will be introduced on this night and have a chance to play on the big court in the arena for a few minutes. I will send out more details on this closer to that time. Keep an eye on social media!

Away Game Meals
We have also handed out forms for team meals. Players should select their meal option, scan the QR code and complete the payment. We need all forms and payments submitted by November 24th. You can hand the forms to:

Firebird App/Team Messaging
We will continue using the weekly email each week, but we will also start using the Firebird Athletic App for more up to date information, reminders, last second changes, etc. Here are instructions on how to download the app and sign up for the messaging for each team:

Download the Fairmont Firebirds Athletics app from Google Play or Apple App Store


STEP 2
Once installed, tap on the hamburger (three lines, top left) menu and select MESSAGING

STEP 3
Under JOIN GROUP, tap on ENTER GROUP CODE

STEP 4
Enter the group code for the desired team you would like information from.

We also handed out hard copies of schedules at the parent player meeting as well as to all of our players. As always, those schedules are subject to change. For the most up to date information.
